Under the forum T&C's, members are not permitted to post names and details of solicitors on the forum.

Application is very straight forward and easy to fill in.
Why do you feel the need of a solicitor?

Hello, thanks for your reply. We realise the application is straightforward but if you can see my other post on here then you'll see the problem we think we may have. If I cannot get the advice then I think we'll submit the application with a covering letter and hope it's not an issue although we think it could well be.

If you spend a bit time in reading the FBR thread here or ask the question in that thread, you will see that this really isn’t an issue.

Hi, I've been looking through FBR related questions, haven't seen anything similar. Are you talking about solicitors or my grandmother's different name post?

Hi thanks for your quick reply, can you please tell me how I post the question in the FBR thread as I don't know how to narrow it down many thanks.

Just post your question in this thread. FBR is quite an isolated topic so most people there won't be bothered at reading other threads.

You can also use the 'Search this topic' in that thread and search for 'different name'. There are many results in the thread. The main consensus is that it is quite common for the name to be different in those old birth certs.
