Naturalization

Hi all,
Can any body tell me that how long it takes to process application for the Irish Naturalization . I have applied for same in May 2005. so far, still awaiting for the respose. I have rang the naturalization offce on several occasions; However, The only asnwer i am getting is that : your application is under process. Is any body else is in my position ? please let me know. One more issue, I also have a stamp 5 in my passport ( remain without condition as to time ! ) . Is this goes against my application for naturalization ?

Hi babar asif,

Please could you give me some more info on your Stamp 5.
Was it hard to get , did it take long ?
Did you get your passport back quick?
Have you met someone in person or it was only via mail/letters?

Any info would be appreciated.

Without Condition As To Time Endorsements
Categories of qualifying persons

1. Applicant has resided in the legally in the State more than eight years
2. Applicant has previous passport endorsement

If you have completed 8 years legal residency in Ireland excluding student conditions you may qualify for a "Without Condition as to Time" endorsement. In order for this office to ensure that you qualify for a "Without Condition As To Time" endorsement you are required to submit the following original documents:-

1. All expired passports in respect of yourself, since arriving in the State
2. Your current passport

New applications for Without Condition As To Time endorsements can be obtained only by post.

Renewal of Without Condition As To Time endorsements can be made by appointment or by post.
Appointments are available on Tuesday or Thursday mornings from 10.00am until 11.30am.
Applicants can arrange appointments by telephone via the Immigration Helpline, (01) 6167700, Option No. 3 (3).

Alternatively, individuals may make an application in writing by registered post to;

Accompanied by the relevant documentation and a short covering note including all their contact details.

Hi Mendo,
First you have to ring them and explain your situation that you are waiting naturalization etc. In my case he gave me his name & asked me to send my application with all supporting documents including the old passports, a job letter, P60, mortgage letters etc. I got my passport back in 3 weeks but then you have to apply for re-entry visa.

Sorry to ask a dumb question: Have you et-all received any communication from them regarding birth-certificate affidavit or marriage affidavit, like many of us here?

7/8 months ago they ask for just birth cirtificate, nothing else & since I hear nothing from them. when you applied for naturalization ?

Thanks for the reply. I've applied in December 2005, they asked for the birth affidavit in July. Thats all I've ever heard.

Also I presume by birth-certificate you mean the affidavit from the lawyer?

Also, do you have any fears in the sense that you were outta job for a while or taken dole etc or have been convicted for any cases?

No no I'm not saying these could be the reasons there are some genuine problems that people who have appeared for a long time have not received any news.
