ILR for parent and MN1 submission for Child

Post by Vavi » Tue Dec 22, 2020 10:15 pm

Dear Moderators

Can i get your opinion on the following query?
I am on Tier 2 General visa from the last 4 year 11 months. My visa is expiring on 30-Dec-20 and I am applying for ILR (hoping to submit on 27-Dec-20).
I am also applying for my wife PBS dependent visa.
I have a UK born son who is also on tier 2 dependent visa expiring on 30-Dec-20. One of the immigration consultant mentioned me that i can apply for my daughters MN1 form (she mentioned she has done it) along with my ILR submission.

Has anyone came across similar situation where Childs's MN1 is submitted along with one of parents ILR application?
If yes, do you know the outcome?
The typical process is to wait for one of parents ILR before submitting the MN1 for UK born child, hence the query. Thanks in advance

MN1 won't be approved until your ILR application is decided/approved, so why do you want to go that route?

Also, MN1 form clearly asks for parent's ILR/Citizenship details and the date when they got settled status, so you won't be able to fill those details accurately (could use dummy dates buy why?)

The rules/guidelines are clear that either of the parents need to have ILR status for child to be registered as BC.

Don't worry about kid's expiring visa if that's what you are worried about.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
