Post by ethan » Sun Apr 03, 2005 4:26 pm

Hi, HSMPhopful

I know you are in the case of HSMP Fee-exempt . however, I have the quesitons. Regarding to the regulation publicated on 01/04/05. The applicaiton fee is increasing. For extending, it cost £355. Also it states that it does not include HSMP. May I ask you if it cover Leave to remain people who holding HSMP visa?

Also, From the form of FLR (IED), the price seems still £126.00? I am so surprised. Could you give some clue on it? or anyone knows.

Further question about some qestions filling in the form, I am not sure how to fill in. Could you have a look and help me?

in section 6:

30. From which British Diplomatic post overseas did you obtain entry clearance and/or a visa?
I got visa (HSMP) in croyton home office. Someone said that It should filled in the first time entry where and which embassy issued.

31. What is your current immigration status in the UK?
Highly skill migrant.

In section 10:

41.What business sector are you currently working in?
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMPANY

Thanks a lot!

Hi Ethan

FLR(IED) covers HSMP as well as a number of other categories, listed on the form itself.

I have no idea why the form wasn't updated - but as you appreciate in my case it was irrelevant so I went ahead and used the form I had.

Regarding the overseas diplomatic post I am sure this refers to your first entry clearance on which you entered the country before you applied for HSMP in country...

Hope this helps

Ethan, i think the guys at HO were a bit asleep and 'forgot' to update the forms, normally they would introduce new forms weeks before any fee increase, their website is not currently accessible (the forms link at least) so it could be that they are uploading the new forms. Just one thing can you check the the 'Valid Until' date on that form, i have looked at the Work permit extension form and it is valid until 03 April 2005, i dont have the FLR form

Received confirmation of receipt letter from the HO today with the reference number saying application is forwarded to a caseworker. No info on timeframes/expected decision time. I will probably wait a couple of weeks and if I don't hear from them will try to enquire about the status of the app...

Received my passport today with a residence permit (with a photo) for 3 years. In my case the whole process took less than 2 weeks.

What is interesting the letter does not mention ILR but says if you want to apply for FLR you may do so at the end of this 3 year period. This may mean that the government is confident they will win the elections and will increase the ILR qualifying period from 4 to 5 years... If so I wonder whether people will be able to apply for citizenship immediately after getting ILR - which seems to be government's intention - but I suppose I will have to wait and see :-)

about special delivery return envelop

Post by ethan » Fri Apr 29, 2005 9:49 am

HI, HSMPhopeful

How the post office put the receipt when you include the prepaid delivery envelop? Because when I sent the documents with the envelop the post office just put the receipt into the envelop. I am worried about if the HO can find it or not? I forgot to write the serial no. of it

It is much appreciated that you could tell me what your post office did.

Kind regards,

ethan

Hi ethan
You should have put pre-paid special delivery envelope along with other documents. The only thing that you should be careful about is the weight.
if your package weights over 500 gms, you have to stick stamps on pre-paid envelope to cover HO sends your doucments back,

I don't know much about other pre-paid options

thanks
tech

Hi All.

Just thought i would update you all that i have received my HSMP Extension -

1) Application sent on April 18
2) Application received by HO in Walsall on April 19
3) Return documents(with stamped passport) received on April 29

I had about 6 weeks left on my visa when i applied for extension. Also I did not include any pre-paid envelope.HO sent my documents using recorded delivery although somehow the postman just left the documents in the post box !!!! so much for the 'efficient' Royal Mail....but hey i have the documents now ..

All the best to the guys who are still waiting .

Cheers :D
