Query in PBS dependant visa application form

Post by aaj2111 » Sat Dec 26, 2020 2:16 pm

Hello all,

In the dependant visa application there is a question -

'Have you previously provided evidence of your marriage or civil partnership to <Main applicant name> in a successful application as a dependant?'

Not clear what is expected from this. My dependant is married to me for 6 years and she is applying as dependant for first time to my Tier 2 visa. Should it be Yes/ No ?

Thank you

In that case it would be "No" and the checklist may ask you to provide marriage certificate, etc. to prove your relationship.

Is Tier 2 your first visa in the last 6 years?
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Hi srsw,

Thank you.
I recently switched from Tier 4 to Tier 2 visa. My spouse has not applied earlier.

Ok, if she wasn't Tier 4 dependent then previous advice stands.

Thanks a lot srsw. Appreciate your help :)

I have another question:
I have few relatives here and we are planning to stay with them for few months.

In the form it mentions:
"Who will you be staying with in the UK? "- where I can select the relative's name.
Afterwards in the form it asks "when do you plan to arrive and date you will leave this address."

Right now not decided when to leave yet. Should I give the end date on my visa? Confused :?

Is your wife coming to stay with you long-term or just planning a short trip to UK?

Ideally, for that question it should be your details (husband) and suitable accommodation for her to stay, i.e. if rental property then landlords consent/updated tenancy agreement.

Yeah, your visa end date could be mentioned for the other question.
