Hello all,

I have a proposition to make to help each other. As cancelling and rebooking appointments on UKVCAS is overly complicated for in country application, why dont we help each other out. In case you are cancelling your ILR or Skilled Worker Visa or spouse visa appointments, why dont you post them here. Ideally this would be good to do in real time via a whatsapp group, but since such group cant be made. Why dont you post it here along with the category so that appointment can be made put to use by someone else.

I currently have a skilled worker via appointment for 2nd February. If anyone is cancelling in this category, could you please let me know. I will go ahead and use it if i see this post on time.

Many thanks

Some members have posted previously about cancellations for others help. The only issue is constant monitoring of this forum by someone who could possibly book that cancellation before its taken by someone else outside the forum. There are plenty more applicants out there and only a very small proportion writes here.

Why not, anyone could possibly post here before cancellations if they wish.

Also it is still unclear how long it takes for a cancelled appointment to be available on the system again for someone else.

PS: Category does not matter for UKVCAS biometrics slot. Every category goes thorough the same process.

Is it possible to create a WhatsApp group of the active participants here for different categories ? You mention there a small chunk of people here. Just talking out loud. This will only help if communicated in real time and thats the best way forward. What do you all think ? One of us can take the lead for different categories.

Got you. Are you aware of any cancellations between now and 2nd February ? Folks, I am desperately looking for an earlier appointment or else might loose my job. Please do reply to this chain should you cancel the appointment. I will be monitoring day in and out. Any help here would be much appreciated.

Good luck to you all.

Many thanks

You should not have booked an appointment in the first place. Why did you not monitor the booking system for few days? It is always good practice to constantly monitor the booking system, different locations, different cities for few days before booking. You maybe would have been lucky.

PS: You can still cancel and go that path. You will loose £10 admin fees if you have a paid appointment.

I feared not getting an appointment at all if i just kept monitoring and not booking anything ;/. UKVCAS folks on the phone told me right now in most/all cities things are booked up and until 4/5 February so there is les spossibility of cancellations hence i booked whatever i got. If i kept monitoring, high chance i would have also lost this appointment. Makes sense ?

Many thanks

Hi,

This is very very helpful. Much appreciated. Does anyone have recent data that we can add to it ?

Will help taking away some of the anxiety. Many thanks to whoever took the initiative. Very helpful indeed.

No they can not speed up the processing time.

You can always add a cover letter and mention your deadlines. HO may or may not apply discretion.

Sorry to keep piling on the questions, but have there been any cases for LR where the discretion was applied since covid? My timeline allows me less than 3 months to get my ILR (or else no med school for me) but my application is very straightforward, no kinks. I get the 3 months period if I apply 28 days prior to date of entry, but I’ve read some comments saying this is risky. Have there been cases in the past where someone was rejected for applying at 9 years 11 months rather than 10 years?

Thankyou for your help!

For SET(LR) you should not risk it. You may apply 10 years minus 28 days but you should book biometrics only when you complete 10 complete years. It is too big a risk if your decision is made before you completed 10 years as it is CW’s discretion to grant then or not.

You can always add a cover letter explaining your circumstances and then hoping for the best. There is no guarantee it will be expedited but that is the best you can do really from your end. Also, each application is decided/expedited on its own merits. You can not compare your case with anyone’s else’s case or expedition (even if granted).

If I am correct, a couple members reported discretion in expedition on medical/compassionate grounds yes.

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well. I have a bit of confusion for Set(M). I had heard that you can now submit your picture and fingerprints via phone but seems to me that is incorrect and we still need to go to UKVCAS center for picture and biometric. Which one is correct?

Thanks,
Ray

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well. I have a bit of confusion for Set(M). I had heard that you can now submit your picture and fingerprints via phone but seems to me that is incorrect and we still need to go to UKVCAS center for picture and biometric. Which one is correct?

Thanks,
Ray
You need to visit UKVCAS center for biometrics

UKVCAS centers have been listed as an essential service and are hence open now for business.
This was not the case previously and applicants were asked to submit via the IDV app(from Aug 2020).
Now, except for Tier 4(student) visas, the IDV app is not in use. At the end of your application submission you will be requested to book an appointment at one of the UKVCAS centers

Updated with my entry...looks like this is not up-to-date, so feel free to add pending/successful ones folks.
Hi,

This is very very helpful. Much appreciated. Does anyone have recent data that we can add to it ?

Will help taking away some of the anxiety. Many thanks to whoever took the initiative. Very helpful indeed.

Updated mine but I think, most if not all, October applications are processed.

We submitted a set(M) application and were invited to use the IDV app. We received an email confirming that they will use the biometrics in record from the previous application. This is why we only used the app.

Hi all,

Was wondering if there has been any recent stats of approvals for SET(M) applicants who applied in September?

Thanks.
It looks that processing SET (M) applications is in chaos and no one knows what's going on.
