I'm so glad and overwhelmed to announce that my application for pre-settled status has been granted
Application 18/01/2020
Biometrics 27/01/2020
COA 16/04/2020
Status granted 21/10/2020
Contacted MP three times
Sent complaint two times
This morning the caseworker called and asked me a few questions after which she said she's going to start processing my application.
30 minutes later, I received an email with the outcome
I can finally rest after stressing for almost 10 months
Thanks to everyone on this platform, God bless you all.
For everyone still waiting on a decison, my prayer is that you'll get positive decision soon.
Congratulations!!!The waiting has been worthwhile.
Thanks @ Nasara

I'm so grateful to God and everyone on this forum
Good luck to everyone still waiting.
Hello Eke,
You know when u called resolution centre, do you always ask to speak to supervisor? If I want to escalate it, would I request it from supervisor? They keep telling me to wait, that they doing checks. What kind of checks takes ages? And how often did you call them?
I spoke to a few supervisors at different times and they all sounded same; we're still carrying out checks and these checks are important and must be completed, we cannot escalate your case until these checks have been completed, keep an eye on your email, if the case worker needs additional information they'll definitely contact you, but I think that's a general reason they all give.
What helped me and also others on this platform is lodging a formal complaint and backing it up with your MP.
Even if the complaint wasn't upheld, ask for a review and if it still wasn't upheld, send another complaint after some time. They'll definitely give up and make a decision. Don't relent, even though it's very stressful you'll surely be glad when you receive the outcome.
I wish you the best and also anyone else still waiting
Here's a copy of the last complaint I lodged
Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm contacting you to make a complaint regarding an EU Settlement Scheme Application i submitted on January 18, 2020 with reference number 3434****
I received the Certificate of Application on April 16,2020. I wish to bring to your notice that this application has taking a long time to be decided and as a result have caused me a lot of distress . The EU Settlement Scheme guidance on estimated processing times, latest 2020 version, states that it usually takes around 5 working days for complete applications to be processed if no further information is required, however it can take up to a month. Applications are, according to the guidance, likely to take “longer than a month” (without specifying how much longer) in some situations, such as when more information is necessary or when the applicant has submitted a paper application form.
There is no mention in the guidance that applications could face delays of longer than three, six or even twelve months and i think this is wrong considering that fact that my application has taken almost 10 month to be decided. I'm aware that the Home Office has made a great effort in making the EU Settlement Scheme work and is processing a large number of applications within a very tight deadline. I'm also aware that some delays may be caused by eventualities that may be outside the Home Office’s full control, such as the Covid-19 pandemic. However, what is certainly within the Home Office’s power is to make sure that the information contained in their published guidance is correct and accurate. The current processing times guidance does not reflect real processing times in practice and this has caused me unnecessary distress and panic waiting this long to get a decision or to be contacted by a caseworker for more evidence if necessary. I believe a decision should have been made by now because i have provided enough evidence to support my application. During the application progress I did submit my National Insurance number and as a result I do believe that based on your automated checks it should not take a caseworker this long to confirm how long I have been living in the UK. Also I applied based upon my relationship with my wife;(wifes name) who have been granted settled status with Home Reference 3434 ****** and is well known to the Home Office from previous applications. Also my son (sons name) have been granted settled status with Home Office Reference 3434-*****. These should make my application process faster but it's unbelievable that almost 10 months I have not received my status and have not been contacted by a caseworker to request further evidence. I have contacted the Home Office through my Member of Parliament and they have replied that my application is in it's final stage which is eligibility stage and i think i have provided the necessary documentaion to show that i am more than eligible to be granted a status under this scheme. It is very clear and evident that I deserve a positive decision and in no distant time and there shouldn't be any further delays. Through this period of waiting it has been very traumatic and stressful because my life has been put on hold without being able to take any employment. I have been in so much distress and can't have proper sleep because I have to wait months and months, the trauma, mental and psychological stress I have been through this period of waiting is unbearable and is taking a toll on me. I hope to receive a positive decision as soon as possible. Thanks a lot. Kind regards.
