Spousal Visa extension Documents

Post by jacob1215 » Mon Dec 07, 2020 4:36 pm

Hi there, after having a read through the forum I made an account and was just wanting to clarify something in regards to supporting cohabitation documents.

I have read through the forum and the answers to this include supplying 3-6 documents every 3-4 months.

I was wanting to to know is it 3-6 documents for every month such as December: Electric, Gas, Water. March Electric, Gas, Water etc. Or can it be December: Electric. March: Gas. June: Water.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Kind regards,

Jake

Above one

hi again,

I have been looking through the forum and seeing that you can't submit documents after the application has been paid for. I was wondering if we have paid the healthcare surcharge but not the application fee yet, will that mean that I can still supply documents after the date of the healthcare surcharge payment?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Kind regards,

Jake

Submit or upload???
You can still upload documents in support of your application after you have made your payments and in most cases up till the time of biometrics appointment.

Hi AmazonianX,

Upload documents that are past the date that we paid for the healthcare surcharge. Pretty much if I paid for the healthcare surcharge on the 01/01/2021, could I upload a document as evidence dated 03/01/2021

Kind regards,

Jake

Usually, documents are supposed to be dated till the date of application submission and not after.
Which of the documents do you have that is dated after application date?

I have a bank statement arriving on the 16/01/2021. We began the application 02/01/2021 and have paid the healthcare surcharge, but we have yet to pay for the application. I was wondering if paying for the healthcare surcharge will class as the beginning of the application date, or is that only when we submit and pay for the application?

P.s. the previous dates mentioned were an example, the dates here are correct. Sorry for any confusion.

Kind regards,

Jake

34G of the immigration rules refers to the date of submission without specific reference to payment.
For the purposes of these rules, the date on which an application (or a variation of application in accordance with paragraph 34E is made is:
(1) where the paper application form is sent by post by Royal Mail, whether or not accompanied by a fee waiver request form, the date of posting as shown on the tracking information provided by Royal Mail or, if not tracked, by the postmark date on the envelope; or
(2) where the paper application form is sent by courier, or other postal services provider, the date on which it is delivered to the Home Office; or
(3) where the application is made via the online application process, and there is no request for a fee waiver, the date on which the online application is submitted; or
(4) where the online application includes a request for a fee waiver, the date on which the online request for a fee waiver is submitted, as long as the completed application for leave to remain is submitted within 10 days of the receipt of the decision on the fee waiver application.
I have a bank statement arriving on the 16/01/2021. We began the application 02/01/2021 and have paid the healthcare surcharge, but we have yet to pay for the application.
If the statement is to evidence a payment received prior to the date of application for example, it can be submitted and should not be a problem.

Thank you for the help korekt. One final question in regards to the 28 days submission for evidence. Is that for all supporting documents or just the financial evidence ones, such as payslips, bank statements and employment letter? I was also wondering if the landlord evidence letter allowing my partner to stay in the accommodation needed to be withing this date as well.

Kind regards,

Jake

I think it's the last payslip really, but it's neater if the other documents are dated before the date of application, where possible.

A typical example is if the normal frequency of your bank statement means it falls outside of the date of application, you won't be penalised for that.

Landlord letter has nothing to do with the 28-day rule. It should be recent or dated as close as possible to the date of application. For example, it shouldn't be dated 6 months prior.

Thank you for all the help. One last query, are any documents required to be notarised or will that not have any bearing on a decision. Such as notarizing copies of our passports and my partner's BRP?

Kind regards,

Jake

Hi again,

I was compiling my documents for evidence to show my partner an I live at the same address and they are as follows:

January 2019- Water bill (joint)
February 2019- Bank statement (partner)
March 2019- Credit card statement (me)
April 2019- Bank statement (me)
May 2019- Water bill (joint)
June 2019- Bank Statement (partner)
July 2019- Credit card statement (me)
August 2019- Council Tax (Joint)
September 2019- Bank statement (me)
October 2019- Bank statement (partner)
November 2019- Water bill (joint)
December 2019- HM revenue tax code notice (partner)
January 2020- Water bill (joint)
February 2020-Bank statement (partner)
March 2020- Council tax (joint)
April 2020-Water bill (joint)
May 2020- Internet bill (me)
June 2020- Gas and electric bill (joint)
July 2020- Phone bill (me)
August 2020- Gas and electric bill (joint)
September 2020- Internet bill (me)
October 2020- Hospital letter (partner)
November 2020- Water bill (joint)
December 2020- Credit card statement (partner)

We have provided this many as our joint bills weren't equal time period apart. Is end up being 10 joint documents of 3 different types, my partner 7 documents of 4 different types, and my 7 documents of 4 different types.

Does this amount and types of documents seem okay to use?

Kind regards,

Jake

January 2019- Water bill (joint)

May 2019- Water bill (joint)

October 2019- Bank statement (partner)
Add a document dated October 2019 for yourself

March 2020- Council tax (joint)

August 2020- Gas and electric bill (joint)

December 2020- Credit card statement (partner)
Add a document dated December 2020 for yourself
If you're applying in January 2021, the above should be okay if you're able to add the documents as noted above.

I see, so for the ones that aren't joint evidence, it's good practice to have a evidence from each of us for the same month?

More than good practice. It's what required.
