My wife did her biometric on the 4th November and I recieved an email on 17th november
"Thank you for your online application which has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer."

When should I expect a reply 8 weeks from the 17th or the 4th Nov?

And what if there is a nation lockdown ?

The email you received is generic. If it is a spouse visa application, you need to wait 60WD from date of biometrics.

Lockdown or no lockdown, decision making centres continue to deal with applications.

The best thing you can do is to wait because there's currently a lot of backlogs with applications.

Few people I know have had the decision and have arrived who did their biometrics a day or two before her so I was rhi king maybe I might get lucky too

Paid email service last week on the 4th january got a reply that a decision has been made, but no follow up email to collect the passport
