Skilled Worker status without a job

Hi folks,

If someone gets skilled worker by his company and looses his job after months or an year, will he need to leave the country or he can stay in the country?

I'm confused as it's mentioned that PBS skilled worker is a PR in uk, but like in Australia PR holder can stay without a job too. Not sure what's the case with Skilled worker in the UK.

Please explain.

If a skilled worker loses his/her job, the visa (leave) will be curtailed to 60 days. No idea how long it takes to receive the curtailment letter (moderators may advice). The skilled worker either have to find a new job with a licensed sponsored to be in the UK or leave the country (or switch to another visa category that allows legal stay in the UK)
One cannot be in the UK without a skilled job under skilled worker visa.

You can stay in the UK until you find a new sponsor or receive a curtailment letter from the Home Office, whatever happens first.

The curtailment letter can take weeks or months to be sent, it seems to be a sort of lottery. Nobody can say a specific time.

If you are laid off, you are not allowed to work in any other place until you find a new sponsor.
