SELT for Tier 2 ICT —> Skilled Worker Visa

Post by Anku1992 » Sun Jan 31, 2021 10:52 pm

Hi,

I am currently on Tier 2 ICT(since 2019) and have got a sponsor ready to provide me Skilled worker VISA.
I meet all the eligibility criteria as per the latest rule changes except secure English language test (SELT) which I have never appeared for while applying for Tier 2 ICT.

Can you please confirm if am required to give any examination before applying for skilled worker VISA ?

Given : I have a Bachelors in Technology from India with medium of communication in English and English subject being thought in 2 out of 4 years.

Yes, you need to satisfy the English language requirement either by:
1. Passing a B1 level English test per EL 6.1 of below
2. Apply for Naric assessment (EL 5.4)

Link for Naric assessment:

https://www.naric.org.uk/Qualifications ... fault.aspx

1. You need atleast a bachelors degree
2. Semester/Consolidated transcripts
3. Medium of instruction letter from the college/university

Thanks Poper ,

I have now started the process for both the options mentioned by you.
1. Reserved a Slot with Trinity College London.
2. Requested my University to provide a Medium of Instruction Letter, Which I will further use in confirmation from NARIC.

I shall keep you posted on the Status.

Thanks again

You only need one item(English B1 test or Naric assessment) and not both

Got you. Not sure your location. I see Trinity exam slots for 4th Feb at Croydon. English test may be the quickest/easiest route. It costs the same as Naric.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/prove-your- ... -test-selt

(GESE) Grade 5 test appears to be the simplest as it is a 10 minute speaking and listening test

Hi Anku/Raj,

In case you are not able to get MOI letter from your university, you can get it from your college on the college letter head. UK NARIC will accept that. This is also mentioned on their website.

Has anyone of you submitted your Visa application for switching to Skilled Worker visa? I need to know the timelines.

Thanks.

The timeframe listed on the UK Naric is 10 working days. Do they really take that long always or anybody had a luck where they processed the application much earlier?

Hi Karan,

They generally take time that they have mentioned on the UK NARIC portal. You can use their 1 day priority service if you need it urgently without any delay.

Thanks.
