VAF 9 form - what date do you ant to travel

Post by karthi305 » Sat Sep 27, 2008 11:41 am

dear Members,

In the VAF9 form, first page they are asking the first question what date do you want to travel to UK.

Is visa being issued on the basis of the date which we enter or the date in which the visa applcation approved?

Request members to clarify this doubt.

Thanks and regards,
Kar

According to me - that is the date to which they will pre-date your visa.

So, if you only want to travel on 1 December 2008, they will pre-date your visa to that date.

You should apply within 3 months of that date.

I have spoken to atleast one friend(old HSMP EC) who says that
that input on VAF9 does not affect the stamping date of the visa .

You can travel any day from the the day the visa is stamped/granted ..

Unless some one else(recent tier1 stamping) can confirm this that their visa stamping date was based on what they filled in the VAF9 form I believe this point is for their UK-BA records only .
