I applied for HSMP. I provided 4 years experience. the case was refused by saying
1-I dont have 5 years experience.Strange! the case was for under 25 and only 4 years experience was required. Any how I m going to reapeal it

can any one clarify it.

Hi rizwan72,

Sorry to hear about your rejection.

What is this about 4 vs 5 years of work experience?

If you are under 28, you can score 35 points for 4 years and 25 for 2 years.

Im guessing (because you didn't provide enough information in your post) that maybe you claimed 35 points and home office awarded you zero?Maybe the Home Office awarded all or none in your case?

Home Office does make plenty of mistakes. A friend said that on his rejection letter he didn't meet the quota of £28K when the min is £27.

Request a review, maybe claim 25 points (if it still pushes you over the point min) instead of 35. You need only 2 years worth of experience for 25 points.

Good Luck.

Sorry to hear bout your application, i should it does seem that they are making mistakes in treating some application in the wrong age group, Do you have the rejection letter yet, if so maybe you could provide us with more information e.g. eductaion - points claimed/ points awarded.
also what proof did you provide to show that you are under 28 and did you get the 5 points for being under 28.
one last thing, maybe you could also provide with some dates
e.g
Date Apllied
Date recieved by HSMP (when payment was cleared)
Date of refusal letter
Date of receipt of letter (it will also help if you told us which country you applied from)

Details of rejection for not five years experience

Post by rizwan72 » Tue May 03, 2005 7:56 am

Dear All,

Date of application:27-mar-2005
Date of decision:21-apr-2005
Documents Received:01-May-2005

I applied as under 28 years. I claimed 35 points for the 4 years experience (feb-2001 to mar-2005) as a statistical officer with the degree of M.Sc Statistics from Agriculture university Faisalabad-Pakistan (country)
I claimed for my spouse 's work experience .I also attached the M.Sc Physics result cards of my spouse and mentioned them that the degree was applied and it would be available in 15-May-2005.

They gave me 15+5 (age)=20 points. But for my work experience they told that we are not satisfied that the five years graduate level work is performed.
They also gave no points for my spouse 's IT administration work. They also not considered the M.Sc Physics result cards.

Now I m making a free review request .I m sure the get work experience points with some explanation. My husband has also got the M.Sc Physics degree. Now kindly tell me if I send the M.Sc Physics degree because I had already mentioned in the application of degree in HSMP application. or this degree will be treated as an additional document and new application with 315 GBP is required or I should only defend my spouse's work experience (currently IT Supervisor for four years in a bank)?
I believe that your proper guidance can save my 315 GBP.
Hoping for a good suggestion.
