Can anyone tell me what happens at the biometric appointment. I know the passport and the fingerprints are taken but why is the applicant required to bring the application form and the checklist. Will they check the application for any discrepancies? Also will they check the uploaded supporting documents.

Youre not supposed to take the application form.. only the checklist..

in my case I had uploaded all supporting documents online so my wife only took the checklist, the appointment confirmation printout and her passport.

Documents will only be checked there if you purchase that service at time of appointment booking

That is the procedure in the place you are checking. Try other locations or wait till you get appointment at the place of your interest.

I managed to get an appointment on 31st Jan for Islamabad, it was a Sunday and it was around 7pm UK time. However the next morning they had all gone. It was a prime time appointment which I had to pay just under £79 for. The appointment is 10th Feb. When I was booking there were around two weeks of appointments available all between 4pm and 6pm. But as I mentioned they were booked up by the next morning.
It appears they are only releasing prime time appointments and at no particular set times. I was checking around 3/4 times a day, it only takes a minute to log into VFS site and check. Just keep looking whenever you can I guess.

Just an update and quick question!

I finally booked appointment for biometric in islamabqd for Monday 13th. I checked at exactly 5:57 uk time and there was 2 appointments.

Now my only worry is that my solisitor had said to book 2-3 weeks in advance so she can upload documents but the matter of fact is its so hard to find an appointment never mind it being exactly 2-3 weeks advance.

Is this usually the case? Does it take long to upload or is she just being reluctant? (Paying £600)

I have just booked my appointment as well, Alhumdulillah - there were appointments for about a week - I booked it just after 6am.
I do not think it takes 2 weeks to upload documents unless your solicitor has not done anything at the moment or is laid back but it should be fine Insha Allah.

I will upload with my solicitor only because he has some paperwork but it seems pretty straight forward if you have all the paperwork ready with you but to be safe just ask solicitor or sit with them and do it I guess

As far as I know -

English test and TB test certificates
Passport and identity/Nadra card (I think)
Check list and also confirmation of appointment letter

Once again, best to confirm with your solicitor

That will be on the .gov website before it transfers you to VFS website
