Hopefully I get the statutory letter any time from now. The long wait is overdue but I have no other choice than to wait endlessly.
I submitted my application since Dec. 2017 and has been on the waiting list ever since.
Fingers crossed. I cant wait to get over the line.
Best of luck to everyone. :D

Anyone here who got approved and paid the fee in jan/feb 2020 still waiting on affidavit to be emailed to them like myself :/ ?
I know they said “phased” basis but it’s disheartening to see that there is no order to this at all when people only newly approved since October have started receiving theirs. Happy for everyone who does, just sucks waiting so long and nothing still...
Hi Everyone,
Yes I got approval letter back in February 2020. I submitted €950 photographs and Garda card, but still waiting for affidavit since. Is anyone else waiting same time.

Is anyone sending photos for a second time with the affidavit? I mean people that got approved last year and sent the fee and photos already.

They asked me only for the declaration and colored copy of my passport, and now wonder if they missed to write them or they decided to make an exception and use the old ones (sent 1 year ago).
Hi dear.
I am the same I sent a copy of myuu approval letter with Colour Passport size photos GNIB card and fees. They said wait for next ceremony to be called. I hope they would call me by end of March🤞🏻

It looks like around 500 Certificates were signed and are sent by post. Some people might receive it this week. I am hoping to be one of those ))

This is amazing news! Fingers crossed for all of you guys! I'm impressed with the speed considering the website said up to 6 weeks, I was anticipating the worst.

New to the forum guys. Great to see people’s getting certificates this week! I applied in July 2019 and got approval late January 2020 and paid fees in first week of February 2020 ..still waiting on an email myself and really hoping it comes soon. Can’t even remember if I gave them an email in my application 😅 hopefully I did and will be in next batch of affidavits sent whenever that is 🤞🏼

Just reach out with your email and your application number. It’s always better to keep pushing them instead of leaving them to contact you.

I emailed and below is the reply, so fingers crossed I hear something soon 😊

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your email.

The Minister for Justice, announced that a temporary
system is in place that will enable citizenship applicants to complete
their naturalisation process by signing a statutory declaration of loyalty
to the state. This signed statutory declaration replaces the requirement
for citizenship applicants to attend citizenship ceremonies, which have
been temporarily suspended during COVID-19.

The new system is in place since Monday, 18 January 2021, There is no
requirement for applicants for citizenship to contact the unit. Under the
temporary new system, qualifying applicants will be contacted by the
Citizenship division on a phase basis over the next few months. Qualifying
applicants will be asked to complete a statutory declaration that will be
sent to them by email from the Citizenship Division

Qualifying applicants will be required to complete the statutory
declaration in the presence of a witness who is either a notary public,
commissioner for oaths, solicitor, or a peace commissioner, and authorised
to take and receive statutory declarations. The Witness must be resident in
the State and the Declaration must be administered / witnessed in the
State.

Once completed the applicant must then send the signed statutory
declaration, the appropriate fee and any other requested documentation to
the dedicated postal address as instructed in the e-mail on or before the
30 May 2021

It will take up to 6 weeks from receipt of the above documents to issue a
Certificate of Naturalisation if all of the above is in order. Therefore it
would greatly assist us if you only contact us, after the 6 week period has
elapsed and then only if it is absolutely necessary, as this will allow us
to devote the maximum time to the processing of applications.

Please be aware that emails are continuing to issue to qualifying
applicants on a phase basis over the next few months. You should receive
yours in due course.

Regards

Got my certificate this morning! Yay! Only negative is unfortunately they didn't put "do not bend" on the envelope so unfortunately the postman bent it slightly into the letterbox, so my certificate has a big crease down it :( Not the end of the world obviously, but a little bit annoying.

Just so pleased its all finally done.

No. Only approved applicants will receive that.
You should check with ISD to see if your application has been submitted to the minister.

I received my naturalization certificate yesterday after 3 years waiting time!
Nice letter from minister of Justice, absorbed part of the frustration
:D :D :D
First application January 2018
Approval letter January 2020 ... Then the COVID thing, bla bla bla
Affidavits received 20/ January 2021
Affidavits Sent back 21/ January 2021
Naturalization Certificate received 09/February 2021

Now, the passport application journey, Due to COVID 19 Level 5 restrictions adviced that we can apply online but (DO NOT ) send any documents yet untill we move to Level 4 COVID 19 restrictions.
Whic doesn't make sence for me ( apply or not to apply ? )

Can someone open a new thread for the passport application process to discuss?

Now, the passport application journey, Due to COVID 19 Level 5 restrictions adviced that we can apply online but (DO NOT ) send any documents yet untill we move to Level 4 COVID 19 restrictions.
The reason is that you need to post a number of documents to them for a first-time application. Level 5 prevents any staff from travelling to the work place at the moment, so nobody will be in the office opening envelopes during this period.

You should apply only when the restriction is reduced to Level 4 or below, when passport office staff can return to the work place.

Of course you can fill in your application form now and get Gardai to sign your application form etc. Just don't send anything to the passport office.
