Hi lureen.. I got a latter today from Ho saying that your further submissions are outstanding but we can't give you a timescale for the decision. If they need more information the relevant casework team will contact you.

Hello J0hn200101
Is it true that you can open a bank account with an ARC as an asylum seeker? I thought it’s not possible to open one. Is it better to do it online or go to the bank?
Can anybody help please, my brother just got his indefinite leave to remain and my son and I have been dependent on him, he is like the father of my son as he does everything for him, we also live with him and this was included in our asylum claim but was refused. Is there anyway my son and I can apply under him outside asylum now that he has his indefinite leave to remain ? Or is there anything he can do for us at this stage?
Hello Laureen,
Yes you can open a bank account with arc card and a proof of address, could be one with your uncles name or your name. It's better to go to the bank ( either nationwide or metro) perhaps with your uncle if he can.
I'm not very experienced with the second question so I hope admin or someone that knows more could help you. But how long did your asylum claim take and have you appealed???
Brother***
Hello JOhn200101, may I know if you already had your initial decision? You said your done with your substantive and I am assuming that you already had your biometrics as well. Thanks

Hi Indu, I have not receive any letter from Home Office, as you said, give them uptill next month if they didn't reply you can chase them up. I guess the delay was due to the pandemic but the waiting is full of stress and suffering, and I also want to ask a question, do you know if Home Office grant letter come with N. I number?

Hi Indu, I have not been granted yet, I am still waiting for a response after submitting more evidence, although I applied for a work permit when my application was only 6months, to be eligible for work permit you will have a 1year pending application so mine wasn't up to 1year, although I didn't receive a response for work permit application instead I received a letter requesting for more evidence and I have sent them off since last month, still waiting for response.

Hi Welljohn hope you having a good Sunday. Have you heard anything yet from H.O it’s been quite with me I’m still hopeful to receive my Biometric card before the months ends.
Hi Sheilam, may I know how many days you've waited after your biometric enrolment when you received your grant letter? Thanks
Hi I received grant letters after my main interview which was conducted in 2019 June. I made a complain and they sent them together with biometric enrolment letter which I have done in December. I haven’t heard anything yet. Have u done your biometrics too ?
Hi Sheilam, it's complusory for "FS Unit'' to ask for further evidence after 1 year plus, because in my own case its more than 1 year already, and they never ask me for evidence.xx
Hi Sheilam,

Yes, I already had my biometrics the 2nd week of January after my substantive interview last December. sorry for the late reply as for some reason this website banned me for a couple of days.

Hello Tjam,
ARC card is valid for DBS application and considered as one of the primary identification, also if you have at least a valid passport or bank statement it will be acceptable as a proof of your identification. Thanks

Hi Tjam, why not try another Agency, the Arc with work permit can be use for dbs, I guess the person who told you that is not acceptable may not have clue about Arc with work permit, can you speak to another person in that agency and explain to them that Arc with work permit can be used to obtain dbs, dbs office only need proof of your Identity and address which Arc card has. for N I issue can you contact Red Cross or refugee Council, just take it easy you will be fine
