Congrats mate!

My date is 14th of May so its getting close now! I hope they can pull out another couple of good weeks!

I'm not exactly sure how I go about applying for Entry Clearance. Can someone please give me some guidance as to exactly which application I need to complete? I'm having trouble finding good info on it and I want to know exactly what I'm doing once that letter comes!

Any help would be great!

Going in for my biometric appoitment tomorrow morning. I received my HSMP approval letter late last week.
According to the British embassy here in Wellington it is currently taking 20 to 30 working days to process the application. Ill let you know how long it takes me.
Cheers

Your HSMP app was received in the UK on 28 April 2008, wasnt it? And it was processed pretty much when the Home Office site said it had been processed, so the dates on the site are reliable, thats good!

Did they contact you to tell you your app was approved before they posted it to you?

Hey Guys

Been following your messages - thanks for keeping us updated on progress!

If you can't wait the 30 days for your entry clearance, I've known some people that have gone down to wellington with all their info - and have received clearance straight away :).

Def worth a try if you've already quit your job, and have flights booked.

Sadly not -- it took them ten days to process the 9 days of applications. Still, their average is pretty good at the moment, mostly thanks to that unusual burst of progress a few weeks back when they leapt through 10 days of applications in only 4 days.

Hi guys.

Just to let you all know that i have today received my hsmp approval letter. My application pending date was 6th may and receiving by home office was around 14th may. So it seems they are going a little ahead of what they have been updating on their website. Will be applying for entry clearance soon. Thanks to all members for posting updates regularly.

KM

Congratulations and thanks for your update! Hopefully this means that next time they update the website (perhaps tomorrow) it will say that they are up to mid May.

Great to hear people are getting their letters back. They received my application on 2 May, but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully its in the post and will hear soon.

For the people who have received their approval letter: how long did it take you from the time they approved it to the time you actually received it by post?

For the people who applied around 2 May: have you received your letter back yet?

Thanks!

Hi Guys!

Just received my approval letter today! (23/8)

They received my application on 14th May. I'm in Perth Australia

I'll be sending off my EC application tomorrow.

Does anyone know if I will receive a 2 year or 3 year visa?

Also how recent to the bank statement I supply need to be for maintenance?

Congrats mate. Another one of us down, one day soon it will be my turn ;)

Copied and pasted from the NZ BHC web site:
You will need to provide your last three months' bank statements as supporting evidence of this requirement. The final statement must not be more than seven days old from the date the application has been lodged.

Entry clearance question

Post by nw » Mon Sep 29, 2008 7:26 am

Hi all,

Thanks for all the contributions!! It's great esp knowing that I'm not the only one still waiting for the HSMP approval letter. My application was received on the 21st May and I'm still waiting, so hopefully shouldn't be any longer now!!

Just a couple of questions:

1. Is it true that we have to submit all the docs used for applying for HSMP ie birth cert, wage slips, degree? Just that I turned 28 in August and just wondering if this will be a problem?

2. My husband will apply for EC as my dependent, is it necessary to show you both our bank statements? Is it ok to show that he has funds on his own, will that mean that he will be considered not as a real dependent on me? Sorry I'm just confused.

3. How long is it taking for them to process the Entry Clearance in Canberra at the moment? Is it faster to apply in person in Canberra?

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Good luck to you all!

It depends where you are applying for Entry Clearance. In some countries, the BHC will not want to see those documents. In others, they (for some reason) ask to see them. Check your local BHC website or call your local BHC to find out.

No. Your age will not be re-assessed at the Entry Clearance stage.
2. My husband will apply for EC as my dependent...Is it ok to show that he has funds on his own, will that mean that he will be considered not as a real dependent on me?
He can use the money in his account to prove his maintenance funds but you cannot rely on money in his account to prove your maintenance funds; you can use yours, he can use yours, he can use his, but you cannot use his.
is it necessary to show you both our bank statements?
Show us? We arent immigration officers, you dont need to show us anything!

Thanks niw2!!

I meant to say "show them both our bank statements".

Hope we get the good news soon! Been waiting way too long.

Has anyone here applied for EC in Canberra? How long is the processing time at the moment? We are planning to leave Australia on the 9th Nov.

Cheers
