DLA spouse visa extension help

i am on my spouse visa and now coming upto apply for extension. my husband receives disability living allowance for our son who is british, does that make us exempt from the financial requirement?

I have seen that receiving DLA means you are exempt but im confused because my husband receives it but on behalf of my son

please help
