Biometric / 2.5 year visa renewal

Post by LauraBell » Fri Feb 12, 2021 4:09 pm

My biometric card and current 2.5 year visa expires this weekend.
I have submitted my application in December via UKVCAS and everything was fine. But I have not heard anything from the Home Office. I know covid has caused a delay but is there anything I can do?
I am worried incase someone asks me about my right to stay

Presumably you have already attended ukcvas and enrolled your biomterics??

Standard service can take up to 6 months. You won't get an update at every step in the process.

Enrolling biometric means your finger print screening, which needs to be completed at one of UKVCAS centre, you should have all that information on email you received after you submitted your application.

Yes I have enrolled my biometrics at a UKVCAS site.
Is it worth calling them up for an update?

We are in a similar position, my husband applied to extend his visa for another 2.5 years in December and biometrics done in January and we are still waiting. I am in a facebook group and i saw 3 people who applied on 16th December got their decision email yesterday so I am hoping it will be our turn soon. However I have also seen people who applied between July and November are still waiting so who knows!
