Surinder Singh Route: from Pre Settled to Settled

As we are approaching the 5 years mark since first entered the UK, we would like to change status from pre settled to settled.
Status was granted based on surinder singh, using the paper form and it took 5.5 months to obtain.

Moving now to settled status, I was wondering if a paper application is needed yet again? or could we use the app + online application?

Adding the info here for future reference: changing status from pre settled to settled requires a new paper form. You must call the resolution centre and ask for a the form and it takes ca 10 days to arrive.
