Spouse Visa Extention - Query

Post by Vishal16A » Sat Apr 24, 2021 11:00 pm

Hello all,

I have few queries regarding my upcoming spouse visa extension application, any advise would be greatly appreciated.

• If we are having a child who is British born and a citizen by birth (I am a citizen), do we need to include our child's name in the extension application?
• If so, do I need to show fund maintenance for 2 dependents now (wife & child) and double the fees?
• Can I claim child benefit in my name (credited to my account)? and If I do will this affect my wife's application (No recourse to public funds)?
• IELTS Level A2 – If my wife takes B1 IELTS instead of A2, will this be accepted?
• Can this IELTS (B1) certificate be used for ILR and Citizenship applications in the future?

Many thanks in advance..

Hi,

I am in a similar situation. My wife and son's Family visa are expiring in June and I have below query:

1. Does my wife again have to appear for any English exam such as B1. She gave B1 test 2.5 years ago that when her visa was filed 2.5 years ago
2. Are you applying by yourself or via any agent?
3. Is it online or my post?

Thanks
Mansoor

For A2, you do not need IELTS. You need to Book A2 GESE Grade 3 Test using link below:

Hi, I will be applying myself, and I think it needs to be an online application?

Kind regards

1. Yes, the application form will ask you about your child and you enter their details and provide a copy of their British passport.

2. No unless you are applying under adequate maintenance.

3. Yes but the sponsor is the one making the claim for the child.

4. Higher test are acceptable and if it is for IELTS then it must have a UKVI number otherwise it won't be acceptable.

5. Yes it can if it was used for previous application.

Hello, thank you very much for your reply, just clarifying few the reply for my better understanding:

2. No unless you are applying under adequate maintenance.
So I can show only £18600 as it was in the initial application?

3. Yes but the sponsor is the one making the claim for the child.
So I can claim in my name?
Since I am claming in my name, Wife's application wont be affected?

5. IELTS B1 - Yes it can if it was used for previous application.
Thank you, just double checking, by the time we would apply for ILR or Citizenship the certificate will expire (2 years validity), will this still be accepted?

many thanks in advance.

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter"
