Hi guys. I got both my minor kids naturalisation approval in first week of November 2020 I send them the required 200 euro each fees and other documents etc in order to receive naturalisation certificate. I haven't heard anything since. It normally takes 6 weeks but not sure May be taking to long due to covid?. I sent the fees draft etc through registered post. It says delivered in first week of Nov. Should I email them??. Thanks for the help
I am on the same boat withyou , got approval at late of october, and sending the bank draft+ childrens'photo in November 20

I emailed them after 6 weeks periods passed, got this reply few days ago, I am not sure the best action
whether to do constant follow up or leave them at peace for sometime

I think they are forgotten about minors but i can see in other forums that many are getting their certs since last week. I hope and wish you do gets your childs !

I applied same sep2019 they asked document three times and last communication was actually in october 2020 asked for school letter and since then no communication at all !

Can you confirm what document they asked you on approval ? was it just Photos and money ? did they also asked for passport ?

It's really shocking that I am yet to get receipt and reference number since they received my children's application in February 2020. Only received acknowledgement and nothing more. Absolutely unacceptable.

It is Indeed shame that those who have right of citizenship (Bear in mind i am talking about children born here in Ireland to those parents who had legal status to live in Ireland) are pushed back !

Lockdown is just an excuse this can be done easily ! its seems they are checking if children are doing any crime !!!! because they have always has suspicion on migrants !!! even their poor children.

I urge everyone to please send email directly to the minister for justice !!! i have emailed her yesterday.

if there are emails going to her directly then i am sure something will happened !!

I apply for my child citizenship after 5 years and now they are trying to make it 3 years.

After 3 years in Ireland, a child can apply for citizenship. This is for children born in Ireland and parent is non EU

Post by Ali112 » Thu Mar 25, 2021 2:38 pm

I was very much frustrated as i only have less then 20 days left in my entry permit of the country i will be working for a year and i emailed the department explaining my situation in detail as single father of autistic child its going to be difficult and i got this response" Processing of your child's application is well advanced and you will be informed of the Ministers decision in due course." i just wanted to get an approval (pay 200 + photo) before i leave with my son so that i am in the peace !!! i can wait for the naturalisation cert as i will be back in 3 months time and in the mean time my friend will be residing in my flat for the time being as i may be back after a year so don't want to loose the place.
I hope that means something is on the way ? anyone has any idea ? if they are saying well advanced stage ?
anyone experienced similar?

If luck would appear the Approvals would be during August and September.
But I am just guessing...
It is a Roulette.
Now everything is a Roulette.. unfortunately.
No answer from them since December 2019...

I read the parliamentary question dated Thursday, 1 April 2021 and get some hope.

Question:
The number of applications with respect to the new temporary process for granting citizenship which involves the signing of a statutory declaration of loyalty to the State instead of attending a citizenship ceremony received to date.

Answer:
  • Under the temporary new system, up to 4,000 qualifying applicants are currently being asked to complete a statutory declaration that is sent to them by email from the Citizenship Division
  • My Department expects to continue the current statutory declaration process beyond March and we are aiming to have communicated with an additional 2,500 applicants in the system by the end of June.
  • To date, 3,615 communications have issued, 1,605 declarations had been returned and 887 certificates of naturalisation have already issued. More will issue in the coming weeks once the final processing of the returned declarations is completed.
Complete detail is at https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/qu ... 90/#pq_290

That was not about minors for Irish Citizenship.
It was answer for an adult applicants.
About children cases nobody talking or discussing...
I think it is a great Idea to send email to that address:

Yes Andy email her but same time do email to your local TD and also a TD in a opposition party.
They seems taking way too long for minor application treating them like adult is totally unfair and unjust ! I wouldn’t be surprised they might be checking criminals record for minors as they are brainless and lazy !!

To all in this forum waiting for their children’s application either new or old please email to your local TD to ask the minister the cause to the delay for minor applications !! Keep the pressure.
