Spouse visa fee in pounds or Pakistani rupees?.

Post by Hellopino » Tue May 25, 2021 1:56 pm

Hi Guys!

Hope every one is well. Just a quick question if any one can shed some light on it. What is the best way to pay spouse visa fee either from Uk in pounds or in rupees from Pakistan. Which one is more convenient or economical way to pay.

Thanks

The fees is based in the currency where the application is made.

So rupees or USD if applying from Pakistan.

If you have a international fee free card like Starling Bank. I would advise this, as the currency conversion fee for a normal UK bank will be like £100+ which your bank will charge for paying in international currencies

Thank you both for your reply. This is what i wanted to find out the most cost effective way to pay out because the local banks in Pakistan have set limits on their debit or credit card.

We were told it's better for the applicant to make the payment, not sure if it makes much of a difference.

But we got charged bank charges and also 3% extra as a 'non filer' tax which so it ended up costing over Rs.50,000 in extra charges.

Yes, just for a single application but for total payment of the application and IHS fees both. I think the law is that if you're a 'filer' paying taxes then it's only 1% but if you've not had a job or paid taxes before it's 3%.

I would suggest checking with your bank before so that there are no surprises.

Hi,

Appreciate if anyone experienced member, or who has the experience of recently paying IHS surcharge being a UK national please share. In case of UK national does the system its calculate the correct amount of IHS because in my case, It gives me a difference of roughy £60.00 if i pay from UK.
