Some Dicy Questios in Entry Clearance Form

Post by Mann » Sat May 07, 2005 11:11 pm

Hi
I have got approval and am applying for EC in the Los Angeles Consulate. I am a Indian National but working in the US on H1-Visa Basis. But I want to migrate to UK in future.

Here are some questions that I am finding dicy so need advise.

1)How long do you intend to stay in the UK
2)Why are you going to the UK
3)What is your proposed occupation in the UK.
Job description
4)Company or organisation name
5)Address
6)Telephone number
7)Have you been issued with a Work Permit
8)How did you apply for/obtain your new position

I think the answers should be -
1) 12 Months atleast
2) To live and work in UK
3) Programmer Analyst (this will be specific for each case)
4) going under HSMP
5) NA
6) NA
7) No
8) Self Applied for HSMP

If I say Yes for question 8, there are three more questions to be answered, which I have no clue since ours is simply a HSMP approval.
9)What is the Work Permit number
10)Date of issue
11)How long is the Work Permit valid for

Please guide me with your best suggestions/experience.

Regards,
Manmohan

those answers look ok. For 1), I wrote "indefinite (allowed by HSMP)" but some people also wrote 12 months and still got the EC.

Bani,

You said you wrote "indefinite" but I heard a case when the Interviewer asked to correct this to 12 months.

I believe it donot makes any difference then. In all case they are going to give visa for 12 months only. Is there any chance of getting longer one.

I didn't get interviewed, sent application through courier. So I don't know if the visa officer altered my form, I just know they approved it. Anyway, no, there is no chance of getting more than 12 months unless they make a mistake.
