Hi Sikander,

Just happenned to see ur post .. the list looks really exhaustive ..i have a couple of questions ..

1.Do you require the following documents apart from your passport for Age Proof ?
  • Age Assessment Cover Letter
    Original Indian Driving License
2. Qualifications Cover Letter -> why is it required . you could mention the details in the main cover letter ?

3. Previous Earnings Cover Letter. ?

4.Maintenance Fund Cover Letter ?

Is it okay to apply without these letters ?

Hi,

I did not use any consultant. So, to be on the safer side I explained everything in the cover letters. There might be a case that these documents are never used.

Moreover, I posted this checklist to get the documents reviewed and I cannot suggest/recommend anything to anyone till I get my VISA approved. I am still awaiting decision.

Sorry, but I am not able to give a clear cut answer. But, I have answered your question to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks,
Sikander

Sikandar,

Here is my observation..
I can see that you are providing multiple evidence for English requirement. I believe IELTS test report is more than enough.

Why are you submitting proof of Accomodation? Is it a mandatory document. As per the guidelines it is not.

Why are you submitting experience certificates of the previous employers? It is not a mandatory document. Proofs of employement letter from you current employer should work.

Please note that I might be wrong so get your doubts clarified with VFS or BHC before submitting the application.

Hello Guys,

I'm applying for my Tier 1 visa.
If someone who has gone through this, pl clear my doubts related to the supporting docs:

1.Age: I am enclosing original passport.

2.Qualification: Original degree certificate(its in English, hence needs no further translation, original 8 semester marks cards.

3.Previous Earnings : Electronic payslips signed and sealed by the HR for the period of 12 months, Official bank statements from both the banks xxxx & yyyy.
Query::
a) in the past 1 year, I'm showing my Ex-company's payslips and 6 months of my present company's payslips. I have got the sign and seal from both the employers.Should I even show the Final and full statement from my ex-company????Pl advice on this!
b) What is official bank statement? How is it different from the E-Statement.Also, will an monthly e-statement + letter from bank do?Should this e-statement be attested by the bank officials, even if I get a letter along with it?
c) I'm submitting payslips and official bank statements to prove the earnings. Should I submit any other documents.

4. English language: Since my university is listed in the Points calculator,I'm submitting the Original degree certificates and will mention this point in the covering letter.
Query: will this suffice?

5. Maintenance funds: I have been maintaining the required amount of 2800 GBP in my account, which is my salary a/c for the past 6 months.
To prove this- I will submit a letter from bank stating that the required funds have been maintained for the past 6 months+ bank statements.
Query: will this suffice?

Apart from this, covering letter, photos, application forms, Oanda conversion page, Adobe format of points calculator results.

My major worry is: How t0 obtain the official bank statements and the letter from the banks: ICICI and HDFC-Bangalore. Do I just walk in and ask for these???? Pl advice.

Regards,
SS100

Hi SS100
Dont worry about those formal things like obtaining Bank Statements & Certificates on Bank's Letter Head. Any Bank in India (world also) would give those documents but since they are of low prioriy they may ask you to wait in a Queue. Nothing much 2 tense about this.
ICICI/HSBC: Both of them would give the Certificates(for Maintenance Funds) with out any trouble.
For Statements, you can walk down or call customer care.
Make sure that Statements are on Bank's Letter Head
OR
Statements are on normal white paper with BANK's Seal & Sign.

Regarding Previous Earnings,
you can submit Form-16 also, but then your 12/15 months window should be exactly from April-March of that Financial Year.So remote chances are there for any one in this regard as this window matches only for few people. The best way out is to get Employers pay slip with sign & seal. Dont worry & go with confidence. Firstly HR may not be willing to give but on repeated requests they would do. Previous Employer , there shouldn't be any problem with previos employer as you have already left the job. A bit tricky is the situation to obtain current employer's. Tell frankly the purpose. Tell them that Visa would take at least 2 years(say its family immigration)so thath you can give them the assurance that you are not leaving the company in a couple of months
Dont forget to include Full & Final Settlement from previous employer, if you want to claim the earnings from that. Also make sure that the period for which the salary(and other final benefits) is paid should be clearly mentioned, as simple
Please do put all your doubts forward..
Thanks
Mohan
