can B1 be used for Spouse visa extension instead of A2

Hi everyone, Hope u all are good.
Actually i need your expert advice about English Test for spouse visa extension after 2.5y. Can i use B1 test instead of A2 whereas i took A1 test when my initial spouse visa was granted. so can i skip A2 and do B1. will it not be a problem that after A1 i jump on B1?? bcz i have read that we can use B1 but it depends previously what level we have done.

You may have to pass a higher CEFR level if you want to stay in the UK after 2.5 years. What you need to do depends on what CEFR evel you passed for your first visa.
If you passed:
level A1 you’ll need to pass level A2 in speaking and listening.

You can pass a higher test than the required.

The higher test ie B1 in this case will suffice and can still be used for subsequent applications down the line if in keeping with the requirements.
