Work permit extension 2nd time

Hi,

My work permit is expiring in December and my employer is launching an extension application this week. I came to UK in December 2004 on 12 month work permit which was then extended for 3 years. So I am now applying for extension 2nd time as ILR rules have now been changed from 4 to 5 years.

Does anybody know how many times a work permit can be extended? There is no mention of any limit on Home office website. However, I have just came across a website which states that I have to apply for a new work permit instead of an extension.

I think you just need an work permit extension application (that can be made on Form WP1X).

The article that you referenced also states the same.
