Children naturalization application

I applied for my children in late 2020. Everything (including passports) went registered post with a tracking number, so I know it was delivered. I've heard absolutely nothing, though it's been about half a year now. No acknowledgement, no numbers assigned, no return of documents. I'm getting fairly nervous about the utter lack of communication at this point, especially given that there are no application reference numbers to cite.

To follow up on this, I was recently contacted to confirm my address for return of the passports, so there does seem to be movement happening now.

Hmm... I think my earlier assumption that things were moving was overly optimistic. It's been over a month since I was asked to confirm my address for the return of the kids' passports, yet they haven't actually been sent back to me. And still no sign of a reference number.

2-3 working days are for post office to deliver it. It should be issued in 6 weeks after you receiving email.

No, mate.
Nothing arrived yet. 6 weeks are gone already.
I emailed to them.
But as you know they will reply in 3-4 weeks later then...
So, as you and as many other parents we are just have to wait.
There is no mercy, just need to shut up and to wait.
They are doing whatever they want.
And all words about rights it is only theirs blah blah blah...
Poor our children. They speak English and Irish better than their parents, but Irish government does not want to give them their rights by law, to be real proud Irish Citizen!!!!
It is a real shame!!!!
I understand it is all because of Covid, but it is not a real excuse in my opinion.

I am naturalized and as my sons mom , but it’s been 2 years no luck for us , Also my some was born here but unfortunately couldn’t qualify for Irish passport as few months less in our residency!

I have approached TD ministers and senator no luck the most most most incompetent people dealing with minor applications!

What a rubbish when they give you citizenship they tell you that you have equal rights my foot !!
The worse part is they don’t belive my sons existence!!

You can’t imagine the stress this department has given me last few months !
I am a single dad and my son is suffering with ASD!
I wanted to take him away for his treatment abroad but because of this shite most incompetent department! I missed my slot! Now I have to go taking longer school leave or May be for a year won’t be in ireland !

Worse part is that I am proving his existence ! They asked me same documents 10 times !and each time provide on time everything!
Once asked me to provide visa stamps from GNIB that shocked me ! He hold EU passport doesn’t need visa and I am Irish !

Another occasion they asked me to
Send his birth cert from ….. country , HE WAS BORN IN DUBLIN IRELAND .

My son’s school principal told me she wish to band her head to the wall ! This is the level of people I am dealing with !

You don’t know the trouble we have when we travel , I was stopped last year on an emergency travel with my son on transit from Amsterdam! The authorities put me in a room for an hour to validate my and my sons passport because he was shocked to see my son born in Ireland but holding a different passport while I wasn’t born but I hold Irish passport

You can’t imagine the impact on my sons mental health ! Imagine his love to this country? A question to the authorities?

I have approached a Barriester who will send them a notice to make a decision in two weeks or else face JR and I will do a defamation against them !

Well as per my lawyer 99% they simply send approval as they don’t want to end up in courts where they know they will be liable and accountable for their wrong doings !

Secondly to all those who are same boat don’t stop and sit back ! Get your TD knows about this issues ! Contact media etc ..

I know we often say it’s a privilege but to know about the progress of your application and to know the causes of delay is YOUR RIGHT ! as lawful resident!

I feel your pain bro. My child also has ASD. Applied since last year February, asked for same documents several times even recently, my legal team were shocked. How? Why asking for same documents again and again delaying unnecessarily? I know citizenship is a gift but there is no justification for treating applicant like this. Not fair tbh.

Another thing I heard recentlyfrom a solicitor is that if applicant keep involving TD the citizenship may kick the applicant's solicitor out from their system as applicant's representative and they will assume the applicant has chosen TD as his/her representative. Meanwhile, I heard some months ago that if applicant involve TD there is high chances they will delay the applicant's application just punish the applicant. Personally I don't believe this.

You can't imagine the stress these guys has given me ! I almost had a stroke !
I am seriously thinking to leave this country for good as this entire department has cause soo much damage to our mental health and there is no good memories with them !

I saw people who have abused the system , lied and did all wrong doing get by everything and these incompetent people in these department seems to value those and not those who been loyal whole of their life.

My point here is that whosoever is in same situation should not be afraid to speak out and reach your local representative so that something should be done in this regard.

Just a question to those who've got the approval for their kids ! Hope someone can answer !

- I may travel for my son's treatment as early as the coming weekend and as my solicitor have already sent a 2 weeks notice for JR to the naturalization department to make a decision or face the JR and suppose the department sends approval letter while i am away , what they require for minors ? Only Photos and 200 Euro draft or online ??

Because i am thinking to give the photos in advance to my solicitor and pay him 200 in advance so once the approval is here , he can sends them straight away without any further delay ?

Please let me know if someone who have recently got approval for their minors !

I have some good feeling that i may get the approval this week or in coming days and i hope all those who are stuck may gets it soon

Thank you for your email. The email incorrectly stated that you would have
the certificate within 2-3 working days. This was an IT error and has been
corrected. It will take several weeks from receipt of the above documents
to issue a Certificate of Naturalisation if all of the above is in order.
Please note, every effort will be made to issue same as soon as possible,
this timeline maybe impacted by the ongoing Public health response to the
COVID-19 pandemic. Your continuing patience is appreciated.

In my case, since 7th of JUNE there's nothing.
And my TD did not answer anymore and Tipperary Citizenship Section did not answer with any emails...
It is Absolutely Ridiculous and Shame!!!!

Just continue to pray folks!!!
That is all what we can do.

Has anyone made a new minors application recently? If so can you share your timeline please I wonder how long the initial assessment process takes and they send you the passport back? Hope someone can help as I can't get any reply to my emails..
