Opening up a business in UK for Work Visa

Post by Sam Oberoi » Wed Aug 11, 2021 7:03 pm

Hi,

I am a India based businessmen planning to immigrate to UK. I talked to a London based Immigration lawyer and they suggested the following steps for me to get a work visa. Just checking if this is something common and doable:

1) Register a business in UK with a partner based in UK
2) Open a business bank account and start showing transactions
3) Lease a business premise
4) The above 3 steps will qualify the company to get a licence that can hire people from abroad
5) Apply for a work permit with the above company sponsoring my visa.

Has anyone done this before? Would love to hear your perspective.

Thank you

Sounds like a scam. If you are a business man try other visa routes.

UKVI doesn't just give out licenses to everyone. There are very specific requirements that have to be met.

Note also that if you are a joint partner of a UK company, you cannot sponsor yourself for a skilled worker visa.

Thank you for the replies. In this case can I apply for a Representative of an Overseas Business visa? I already have a well established business in India and I want to further expand into the UK markets.

This also has very specific requirements. You cannot apply for this visa if you own the business.
