Is the age limit for the UK Fiance Visa being changed from 18 years old to 21 years?

We will increase the age at which someone can sponsor or be sponsored as a spouse from 18 to 21. We will introduce changes to the Immigration Rules to bring this into effect by December 2008.

Yes, but will this affect us? I am an 18 year old United States citizen applying for a UK Fiance Visa. My fiance is a 23 year old British citizen.

If you are granted the Fiancé(e) visa before the age rule (277) changed, then it would probably not affect you. Hopefully, there will be transitional provisions relating to age (277) when subsequently entering the UK and applying for FLR(M) (285) and SET(M) (288).
