Same here, I applied for on 4th May, no news yet. Have sent couple of emails in last 6 weeks but no response.

It is really stressfull.
Crazy time and crazy reality.
Never know what could be next in our lives!!!

Some of my children haven't received ordinary reference number and receipt of application since over one and half year now. Waiting for it to clock 2 years so i can head straight to court. No excuse at all.

Has anyone made a new minors application recently? If so can you share your timeline please I wonder how long the initial assessment process takes and they send you the passport back? Hope someone can help as I can't get any reply to my emails..

Not super recent, but I sent apps for my children in December 2020. Received confirmation numbers and had passports returned in August 2021.

No answer to emails sent around May/June enquiring about the whereabouts of the passports.

I have sent my own original passport(Non.Eu Passport) with my son's naturalization application on 4th May 2021 but no news yet.

Hello everyone!!!
I received today daughter's Cert.
It is Incredible feelings.
And in a week time we are flying away!!!
Can not believe in it.
But It is a reality.
God bless us, that we received it.
When we come back home to Dublin we will make a First Irish passport. I very good know that it is going to be a new challenge, but it will be absolutely last step in this Long long long process!!!
Hope during next week many happy parents would receive Certs too!!!
So time process:
1) 10 December, 2019 we Applied.
2) 3rd of February passports, certs, acknowledge letter received.
3) 30 of May 2020 (was a Pandemic already around state) they ask Copy Trust for Birth Certification again. (I think they lost that copy when I applied in December 2019)...
As you see HUGE GAP IN 1 YEAR AND 1 MONTH TIME:
4) 7th of June 2021, letter to pay 200 euros fee.
5) today on 2nd of September 2021 receive Certificate.
So, 22 months for entire process to get a Cert.

Some News
As of 15 September 2021, 6,167 certificates of naturalisation have been issued so far this year.
A further 1,000 people have paid the statutory fee and will receive their certificates in the coming weeks.


Since the beginning of this week, the staff of the Citizenship Division of my Department have returned to the office on a new attendance pattern that will see a gain of approximately 500 production hours per week due to increased footfall on-site. To further address the volume of applications on hand, additional staff are being assigned to the citizenship team; and a number of digitisation measures have been introduced to increase efficiency in the process, including eTax clearance, eVetting and online payments.

The end result of the digitisation process will be to free up more staff to focus on processing applications in a timely and efficient manner, to improve service to our customers and reduce waiting times. Based on this, my objective is to achieve an improved decision making timeframe of 6-9 months for a majority of applications during 2022.

Is any one still waiting to get Passport and application number back?

I submitted my child application along with passports in November 2020 and till now passports are not returned and no application number too.

I contacted TD's but even they also got same template response. not sure if any one else is waiting for so long.

By "apply" I meant applying for a certificate, not the naturalisation process as a whole - which we started in June 2020.

I got the second exactly same Email today, but I received the certificate this morning.
