Referee query

Post by Yash123 » Wed Aug 18, 2021 2:48 pm

Hi
I am in process of preparing my BC Naturalization application.

Regarding referee requirements I have 2 doubts :

1. Can 2 referees be same for main applicant and dependent spouse?
2. Does both the Referees need to be British passport holders or 1 with British passport and 1 with just ILR
will do?
3. For the child Referee It is obvious that GP or School will not give,
3.1. Can the same referee of adults be used?
3.2. Is it required to provide evidences that we have contacted School/GP for referee but they refused?

Yes - if they know both applicants.
2. Does both the Referees need to be British passport holders or 1 with British passport and 1 with just ILR

Refer to: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... on_MN1.pdf

You should write a covering note explaining that School/GP are not willing to be referees.

When to apply query

Post by Yash123 » Thu Sep 09, 2021 8:04 pm

Hi,

I have a query regarding "When to apply" section of eligibility criteria.
It says "You must have been physically present in the UK exactly 5 years before the Home Office receives your application."
In my case I have been granted ILR on 16 Sept 2020, so planning to submit the application online on 20 Sept 2021.
Now the date exactly 5 year before comes as 20 Sept 2016.
I had travelled to France (out of UK) on 24 Sept. 2016 and returned back on 28 Sept. 2016.
Question : Is it ok to apply on 20 Sept 2021 or do I have to wait till 28 Sept 2021?

You could apply on 20. September, but if there's a delay then apply on/after 28th.
Personally I would avoid any complications and apply when there is no risk of dates clashing - a few days extra is worth it.

Query on documents to be uploaded

Post by Yash123 » Fri Oct 22, 2021 9:52 pm

Hi,

I am preparing documents for my Naturalization application.

Referring to the Document Checklist created after application submission, I want to ask what shall be submitted for following point.

Proof of living in the UK for Mr XYZ for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen

My case is applying in my own right.

The passport(s) covering the period.

Thanks alterhase58.
I have passport(s) with Entry Clearance VISA stamped, this should be enough I guess.
