I've just taken a look at the online passport application. If you don't have a passport they ask for parents' details only, plus your naturalisation certificate. If you do have a passport, you will need to provide it.

Hi and thanks for your reply.
this is the copy of the guidance and I don't see another option except from giving the passport, please let me know where they state something different or some experienced members have experienced something different.
Thanks I really appreciate this forum it has helped us all the way long.

"Born on or after 01/01/83 – Your ‘full’ birth certificate or
adoption certificate that shows your parent’s details (the
‘short’ version which is issued for free by the registrar
is not acceptable).

Ÿ If you have naturalised or registered as a British citizen –
your certificate of naturalisation or registration and the
passport that you used to come into the UK
and any foreign
passport you hold or are included on. A ‘full’ birth/adoption
certificate that shows parents details for applicants under
16 or a court order granting parental responsibility (if any
are in place). Applicants 16 and over don’t normally need to
give us their birth/adoption certificate."

Start an online application. The application is only actually made after you pay and click on the final Submit button. You will be asked questions, one of which will be 'Do you have a passport?' Answer them all and you will be given a precise list of all the documents you need to send.

Do you want to send an ID card because you do not have a passport, or because you want to retain your passport while your British passport application is being processed?

NOTE 1: 'Having a passport' refers to an uncancelled passport, whether expired or not.
NOTE 2: If you do not have a passport at all I do not think you will be asked for your ID card. But you will only be certain of this once you have filled in your online application as described above, and told what documents to send.

They say "passport used to enter the UK"
which this is my French I.D.
My question is if I need to send my French passport as well or because I have entered with my French I.D. I can keep my French passport with me?

Ah. Now I see why you are not certain. The instructions are not clear.
Maybe give the Passport Office a call? They are quite helpful apparently. And let us know what they advise?

Thank you so much for trying to help me with this situation
But I would like to know from one of the senior members if they have experienced this or similar situation as the officials sometime are not experienced with every situation, that is why I ask here.
thanks

You are overthinking the question.

You need to submit a foreign passport.
