IT Job - Active Directory, MCSE, ITIL, SMS in Australia

Post by Equestrian » Tue Oct 21, 2008 9:14 am

Hello All,

I am planning to immigrate to Australia and work and live there.....

I have looked at certain job sites in Australia to understand the market of IT sector.....

I am MCSE, ITIL, and Microsoft SMS 2003 Certified and having around 3 years of NON-AUSTRALIA experience...... along with expertice on some other tools and technologies.....

I know there are many jobs and less people there in australia (as per my understanding goes)

My Questions -

1. How long does it take to secure a job in above stated area? I mean Networking, systems administration, Infra management, LAN, etc....

2. Do Australian employers consider non-australian experience?

and last but not least,.,,

what is the average cost of living there?

thanks a ton!!

average price to purchase in above areas = $500k
public transportation (bus/train/ferry integrated ticket) from above suburbs to CBD = $6 return
taxi fare from city to above suburbs = $25-30
price of unleaded petrol is $1.35/litre
rubbish ticket for cinema in a shopping complex = $14/each
can of coca cola from 7/11 = $2.20
bottle of water (mt franklin) = $2.50
mobile telephone = $49 (capped planned with $500 included calls)
fixed telephone line rental = $25 (inc silent number)
pay television (foxtel) = $125 (all channels including HD & IQ box)
