income-based jobseeker's allowance;
income support;
child tax credit;
working tax credit;
a social fund payment;
child benefit;
housing benefit;
council tax benefit;
state pension credit;
attendance allowance;
severe disablement allowance;
carer's allowance;
disability living allowance;
an allocation of local authority housing; and

Council tax benefit is different from single occupancy discount. Its not a pblic fund.sushdmehta wrote:See also No recourse to public funds - what does it meanPublic Funds wrote:Public funds include a range of benefits that are given to people on a low income, as well as housing support. These are:

Hi John, Sushdmehta and everyone else,John wrote:Let's be categoric here. The 25% single occupant discount is not Council Tax Benefit. They are two totally separate things.
Single occupant discount is given based on the fact that a single occupant uses less Council services ... and is given irrespective of income. However CTB is given to a low-income person or family, solely because of of that low income.
Single occupant discount is not within the definition of Public Funds .... whereas CTB is.
