ILR Dependent Visa Extension

Post by bokishai » Sat Aug 14, 2021 11:17 am

Hello Friends,

Hope you all are well.

I wanted to see some confirmation regarding the online link to apply for my wife’s ILR dependent visa extension.

She is currently on
Type of Visa - Spouse/Partner Leave to Remain
Expiry - 01-Jan-2022

Please can you advise me if the below is the correct link for the visa extension online form:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... 1628358439

Also, would she have to take another English test ? She had already taken a test as part of the 1st
Spouse/Partner Leave to Remain visa.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards,
SS

Yes correct form.

It depends what level of English test she did intially and if the test and test provider is still on the current UKVI approved list.

Hello CR001,

Many thanks for the prompt assistance.

With regards to the English test, she had given the CEFR Level A1 from Trinity College London.
So would she have to give Level A2 or higher for the extension?

Thanks once again in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards,
SS

Hello CR001,

I had a further question on my situation:
Current Visa:
Type of Visa - Spouse/Partner Leave to Remain
Expiry - 01-Jan-2022

I had applied for this after I got my ILR.

Now, I have got the British Nationality approval and my ceremony is scheduled on 07th OCT'21.

Hence, my question was more around the visa type and will there be any changes/impact due to me moving from ILR to British National?

Just a bit worried about this and hence, raising this question.

Thanks in anticipation of your usual prompt assistance.

Kind regards,
SS

Whether you hold ilr or British citizenship, it is the same visa for her.

Hello,

Firstly, many thanks for your confirmation on my last question.

Spouse Visa Info:
Type of Visa - Spouse/Partner Leave to Remain
Expiry - 01-Jan-2022

My Status:
British National - 07-Oct-2021

I had some follow-up around the questions on application:
UK Immigration Status
Q: What type of visa, leave to enter or remain or other permission do you have to be in the UK?
A:Family

Q:On what basis did you apply for your current visa, leave to enter or remain or other permission?
A:As the partner of a British citizen, settled person or person with pre-settled status under the EUSS; a person with refugee leave or humanitarian protection in the UK, or a person with leave as a Turkish ECAA worker or business person

Current partner
Q: Is this the first time you have applied for a partner route, or an extension, with your current partner (including as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner)?
A:NO

Q:Please choose the reason you are applying for an extension, this includes if you are switching to a partner visa from another type.
A:Additional extension as a partner

Other options for this question:
First extension as a partner (following an initial period of entry as a partner, or as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner of a settled person)
First application as a partner from within the UK (for example, you are currently in the UK on another type of visa or permission to stay)
You delayed your travel to the UK by more than 3 months after the issue of a visa and have not yet completed the required amount of time on a partner visa (not including as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner)
You require more time to meet the Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK requirements to apply for settlement
You were granted entry as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner, but have not yet married or entered into a civil partnership
You are applying for any other reason

Have I responded correctly on the above questions?

Thanks in anticipation of your usual prompt assistance.

              Kind regards,
              SS
