Tier1 extension

Post by ami123 » Wed Sep 24, 2008 9:16 am

Hi,

I am in UK under HSMP which will expire in November 2008.
I have one dependent(my wife), we both are in UK past 22 months(from Dec 2006).

We have to apply for extension in next 3-4 weeks.

I remember guidance regarding maintenance funds saying 800 GBP. so I have just maintained the balance not to go below 800 GBP past 3 months in my account.

But looks like i missed the point that dependent funds of 533gbp as well has to be shown for 3 months.
that is 800 + 533 gbp.

I would like to know where do I stand with our application and what would be the best approach for us.

appreciate your feedback.

regards
ami

Hi,

Aren't you covered by HSMP JR??Bcoz if you have recd. your HSMP BEFORE Nov 2006 then you need not worry about maintenace funds etc

Ashish
Thanks ashish for quick reply.
I recd my Approval letter on 1sept 2006, but got the visa stamped in the last week of Nov 2006.
Looks like I can apply through transactional arrangement(HSMP JR as you said). thats a good news.

If this is true then Do I use the tier 1 form or FLR form.
http://ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteconte ... er1general
OR
http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteco ... ier1(hsmp)

I had all my documents for tier 1 ready, except the spouse 533 GBP maintenance.
If one fall under JR as well as eligible under tier1 extension,
does he/she have an option of choosing one over the other.
Does it matter much regarding how did one get extension later.

thanks
ami

Use the second one:

http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteco ... ier1(hsmp)

This is the correct form to use in your case, I'm not sure if you will have problems with the caseworker if you used the first one. But your Tier 1/HSMP status is not affected whichever extension method you use.

Do you still have a copy of your approval letter? It's best to include it so they know you got it before Nov 06.

You don't need to fill in question 4(your reference), this is for the representative (agent etc)

I did not come across PNR.may be someone senior member can suggest us.

regards
ami
