UK Visiting Visa for my Parents in india, while my UK tier 2 general is only valid for 6 months.

Hi All,

Hope you are doing well.

Im looking for a clarification on, whether my parents UK Visit visa would depend on my tier 2 general visa validity as i'll be sponsoring visit visa for them.

My tier 2 general visa is valid until 8th April 2022. If I apply UK Visit visa for my parents in Dec 2021 or Jan 2022. would the visit visa be only valid until 8th April 2022 (which is my tier 2 general visa expiry) or would they get the standard visit visa validity of 6 months?

Appreciate your help on this.
