Spouse Visa from Pakistan

Post by khalidhaku » Thu Oct 21, 2021 12:12 pm

Dear Moderator and respected members on this Forum,

I hope you all are fine.

My question is about Spouse Visa from Pakistan for my son? We are planning to go Pakistan for 3 weeks for his wedding in the last week of November 2021. Please let me know the requirements of documents or any link of docus requirement and online application link. His yearly salary around £21000.

Can he apply his spouse visa from Pakistan by himself or need a Solicitor?

Your kind help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

More details are required. Who is the non-UK spouse and who is the UK citizen?

No need for solicitor if the case is straightforward i.e.

1- financial requirement (£18600) is met
2- language requirement is also met
3- fill the form and provide supporting documents as illustrated in the link below.

He does not apply at all, his spouse applies. Where he is on holiday at the time of application does not matter as long as he still resides in the UK.

He does not apply, he does not need a visa. His spouse applies in their country of nationality or permanent residence.

Obviously the application has to be submitted after marriage and since everything is done online, he can return to the UK and fill in the forms for his spouse from there (carefully check that he doesn't get any details wrong!) but as far as I know, the application and IHS fees have to be paid from the country of application. And of course, the spouse's passport has to be submitted there.

What they absolutely cannot do is travelling to the UK together after getting married (on an existing visit visa, for example) and submit the spouse visa application from within the UK. That will just end in tears, cost a lot of money and in all likelihood the spouse will have to return to their country of origin and apply from there in the end.

Was the someone he spoke to a qualified immigration adviser or just someone whose cousin's friend's hair dresser heard that somebody did that?
