Do we need to provide Transcripts(marks-sheets)?

Post by shalini_g » Mon Oct 27, 2008 5:52 am

Hi All,

I have a query regarding documentary evidence that one needs to support the points claimed for Qualification in Tier-1(General) category.
I have tried extensively to search this forum, but haven’t been able to find any post which can clear the doubt i have, nor have the guidance notes on the UK home office site been unambiguous on this matter.

My Query:-
Is it sufficient to provide the Original Degree certificate to support the points claimed for Qualification, or do I have to provide Original Transcripts (marks-sheets) also. (My situation is that i have misplaced one marks-sheet out of 4 semester marks-sheets, and unless it is very mandatory, I would not like to run back to my alma-mater to request a new marks-sheet for first semester exam, which i took way-back in 1997)
Has anyone been in this situation, and how have they dealt with it. I shall be highly grateful to anyone who can guide me out of this situation.

Thanks and regards,
Shalini.

Degree should be fine as long as your awarding institution can verify it.

However, I would recommend submitting at-least your final transcript with your degree.

Thanks a lot Vinkhub for your reply..

I gone through the link provided by you, but it doesnt seem to categorically suggest that only degree certificate is enough. While that page lists 3 documentary evidences, that can be provided, it doesnt unequvivocally say that if we submit the degree certificate document, then we dont need to submit the transcript documents. I mean there is no OR / AND relationship between the three sets of documents listed there.

Vinkhub, have you yourself done the same(i.e., only submitted the Original Degree Certificate and not submitted the transcripts), and have successfully gotten the Visa approved?...

If anyone else has done the same, and successfully got Visa stamped, please share your experience. I thankfully acknowledge every bit of advice and suggestions.

Thanks and regards,
Shalini.

Don't submit extra documents. If you are applying from India, degree certificate and last semester marksheet(for Integra) would be required.

If outside India, only degree certificate may be sufficient(request other Tier 1 applicants outside India to please confirm this)

I have successfully applied from India with only degree cert and final yr marksheet.
