can non-EU spouse on stamp3 apply for citizenship after 5 years?

Hi,

I want to know can a non-eu spouse apply for citizenship after completeing 5 years on stamp 3?
1- Can stamp3 spouse apply without husband who is on stamp 1 general (medical profession)?
2- Can spouse apply right after 5 years or do spouse have to have an addiitonal visa after 5 years while the citizenship appliction is in process? like in UK after completing your 5 years, you can apply without any additional leave (the current leave is extended until the decision is made), is it same in ireland?
3-Do spouse (stamp3) and workpermit holder (stamp1 5 years) have to apply together or can spouse apply without the support of workpermit holder?

1. Yes
2. Residence permissions and citizenships are two different things in Ireland. You can apply for citizenship right away, but you also need to have valid residence permissions while the application is in progress, which can take 2 years.
3. They can apply separately.

Thanks, another question on similar note,
for workpermit holder (stamp 1general), after completing 5 years, he should get stamp4...to apply for stamp4, does he need a valid visa while stamp4 application is in progress, or the moment he completes 5 years he can apply for stamp4 without any current leave (like 28 days before completing 5 years or someting like that? )
