MN1 Process for child born in UK

Post by avahir1984 » Thu Dec 09, 2021 3:20 pm

Hi Team,

I hold Tier 2 General Visa and I will be applying for ILR in Dec end 2021 as I finish 5 years.

I have child born in UK in 2018, During my Tier 2 General tenure.

I have question : Can I apply for MN1 process just after my ILR application is submitted but decision is pending? if yes, is there any documentation on gov.uk stating that tis allowed?

I am asking as if I dont file MN1 then I have to extend their dependent visa until my decision has come and then again apply MN1

Please help here

Thanks in advance
A Ahir

You can apply for children one your ilr is granted.

A UK born child does not need a valid visa to apply for citizenship.

Based on your response if we dont extend childs visa. what will be their status until MN1 process.

Does this affect NHS benefits? as NHS charges paid during PBS dependent will be only till Mar 2022 which is their PBS expiry date based on my 5 years tenure
