Spouse Visa Extension

Post by LauraKhan » Mon Dec 13, 2021 9:28 pm

Hi,

My husband was granted initial leave to remain in May 2018, which is due for extension now, preparing to apply this weekend.

Can someone please provide feedback on below based on their knowledge and previous experience;

1. Is below the correct link to the online application form?
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... ily-routes

2. For items of correspondence addressed to the applicant and the sponsor at the same address to prove living together, my husband don't have any letters from 2020. If I provide letters for year 2020/2021 and for my husband from Jan 2020, would that be acceptable?

3. We will be submitting birth certificate and passport of our baby born in April 2021 - would that benefit our application for the lack of above (no letters addressed to husband in year 2020)?

4. Who do we address the Sponsor and Cover letter to. Is it UKVI?

Many thanks in advance
Laura

1. For spouse visa extension, the correct form is FLR (M): https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -form-flrm

2. (Lack of) Items of correspondence should not be an issue. Explanation can/should be provided in the Application Form or covering letter. Depending on the circumstances a letter from other family member who live at the same address may also assist.

3. A checklist of documents will be provided at the end of the Application Form - I would expect it to include the Birth Certificate/Passport. If not mentioned, would still support the application.

4. Address cover letter to UKVI.

What is the reason behind him not having any corresponding proof during those period?

We only had one correspondence letter during this period, that was from electoral service.

During 2019 and 2020 he was staying at home, renovation and lockdown.

Explain that in a cover letter on the reason you were unable to provide correspondence for those period is due to renovation and provide what you have.

Consent form 1 for applicant
Consent form 2 for sponsor
Consent form 3 leave it blank unless you have a third party support then this should be signed. Your sponsor is not a third party.
