Skilled Worker - Can employer change work start date to an earlier date

Hi there,

Summary:
Is it possible to amend the COS "work start date" to an earlier date for Skilled Worker Visa?

Problem Statement:
My new employer has issued me the COS which states the work start date as 27th Jan 2020. My current employer is releasing or terminating the contract on 7th Jan 2022. I already have got the decision from the Home Office. I wish to start with the new employer as soon as possible after serving my last day on 10th Jan 2022.

Questions:
1. Is it possible to amend the COS start date to an earlier date?
2. What is the process?
2. Is there any fees to be paid for making that amendment in COS?
3. What is the timeline for amending the change in the COS?

i would suggest talk to your company and ask them to do the changes...

Yes, an employer can update the COS to reflect the earlier date of joining.
