HSMP dependent visa query

Post by hsmp_dep » Sun Oct 26, 2008 11:39 am

Dear All,

1) My HSMP visa is due for renewal by 9-Jan-2009. I'm planning to apply for my wife's dependent visa by 12-Nov, which means there will be hardly 2months left in my visa (sponsor's visa). Would this be a matter of concern for the case worker to approve the dependent visa? If the case worker decides not to give the visa, would it amount to rejection/refusal of visa, which my wife had to mention in all future visa applications under refusal/rejection? Or is it wise to apply for dependent visa after getting my extension?

2) Does the 7-day rule for bank statement and maintenance fund apply to me?

3) BTW, I am an IT contractor having my own company with 100% share. I take salary and dividend as my earning. Should I mention that I am the director or just say I am employee of the company, which is true as well? What kind of proof should I provide to prove in either case apart from salary slips and bank statement?

4) My wife is unemployed. For VAf2, 6.4.11, 6.4.13 and 6.4.14, What should I fill in?

6.4.11 Do you receive income from any other sources, including friends or family? -- Basically her father supports her currently. Should I mention that?
6.4.13 How much of your total monthly income is given to your family members and other dependants?
6.4.14 How much do you spend each month on living costs?

Thanks in advance,
Raj.

Dear All,

Is the endorsement of spouse name in the passport a mandatory step for dependant visa?

Thanks!

Not sure how much this helps you., but don't you think its a waste of money applying for dependent visa for just 2 months? The expiry date on the dependent visa will be the same as the primary applicant. So your wife will have to also renew her visa when you apply for your renewal.

The 7 day rule and maintenance fund does not apply to you. I recently applied dependent visa's for my family. I have been working in UK as contractor for 3 mnths now. I am also under the HSMP and not Tier1. I just enclosed scanned copies of 2 months bank statements and a latest statement printed from the internet. Don't forget the original marriage certificate, wedding photographs. VFS infact asked my wife if it was possible for her to attach a wedding invitation, although this is neither documented nor suggested aywhere. My wife got her visa in 2 weeks, about 10-12 working days I think. The only sore point was she got a post dated visa, because she didnt fill the exact date of arrival and just said 1st week of Nov.
