Visa extension for wife

Post by HGHGHG » Fri Dec 31, 2021 11:39 pm

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all doing well.

I have a couple of questions for my wife's visa extension. The circumstances are as per below:

1) She came to the UK when I was on Tier 2 visa and we applied for PBS Dependent Leave to Enter;
2) I was eligible ILR in February 2021 which I applied for and have now gotten an ILR; and
3) My wife's visa expires on 3 March 2022 which is in line with my previous Tier 2 Visa.

I wanted to know what application form should I use for the extension of my wife's visa and also how soon can we apply for her renewal?

Look forward to the help and responses from you.

Thank you and best regards,
HG

Did you get ILR under the PBS route or under the Long Residence route?

I got my ILR under long residence route as I has spent 5 years in the UK at that time.

Long residence route is if you have spent 10 years legally in the UK.

If you applied for ilr after 5 years tier 2, then it is not long residence route.

Apologies for my ignorance. I got my ILR after spending 5 years in the UK working under a Tier 2 general visa. My wife got her PBS dependent visa under my 2nd Tier 2 general visa.

Going back to my original question, wanted to know what application form should I use for the extension of my wife's visa and also how soon can we apply for her renewal?
