Working visa for europe ?

Post by oz_to_uk » Sat Oct 25, 2008 4:00 am

Hi All,

Is there any single work visa; which allows you to work in Europe (UK, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands etc)

I heard if you get Tier1 and there is some visa which will allow you to work in other parts of Europe along with UK.

Please advice.

There is no work permit like that at present,. There might be in the future (no one knows when exactly).

Thanks,

I will ask my friend the name of visa who was telling about this or I would clarify if he got wrong info from one of the immigration agent and then will update everyone here.

There definatley isn't one - there is a Schengen Business Visa for Europe - but that's for Business now for work as such, although I still think the difference is blurred....

Thanks everyone.

Further, which countries in Europe offers work permit which an individual can apply by himself on the basis of skill or income etc.

For ex , Tier 1 is for UK.

And how much time it costs, pointers to website will be helpful

Bit pointless really - credit crunch is biting, jobs are scarce and those about are going to EU nationals who don't need visas or work permits.

maybe the pay is 30% higher, but so is the expenditure and the cost of living.

and Wanderer is right. The scene is pretty bad , particularly for IT pros.

I find the living costs here quite high too (and I have been living in Japan before).
