Hello People,
I have been living at my land lady's house for the past 7 years. She has been very lenient and understanding with me.
Over the years I have accumulated arrears for rent, food, electricity and at the rising cost of inflation it has been worked out at over 20,000 pounds.
Will the home office see this as a tie?

Its a reality, no fairy tale in fact u can do the sums urself.
check out 100 pounds per week for a year then multiply by 5 years and tell me ur answer.
She was willing to wait on me to pay her back but I think she has had enough so i am still indebted to her.

He's got to be.
The notion that sponging off an individual or private organisation provides grounds for leave to remain, whilst sponging off the state by claiming benefits or whatever is grounds for refusal, is a complete joke.

I reckon the only way this could be considered a tie would be if the landlady locked the OP indoors until the £20,000 is paid!

She's not a tie, Lazarus; she's a creditor.
Have you got any other.. er.. ties to the UK?
Oh, the drama...!

I've got this rope knotted around my neck, and it's fastened to the ceiling. Should I regard it as a tie?

I think that's called a noose.
But don't be mean, maybe it's the landlady's fault for giving out all those lovely cups of tie.
Oh, the drama...!
