Natulisation Questions

Post by Imgettingold » Tue Jan 11, 2022 6:28 pm

Hi

I'm about to start the naturalisation application for my wife after she received her ILR and I have a few questions I'm hoping to get help with
Some of the questions might have obvious answers but I do stress about these topics and it would help just to get clarification

1. I am a British Citizen from birth and my wife got her ILR via spouse visa, can I apply straight away?

2. It's been nearly 8 months since she received her ILR (I just wanted a break) would that be an issue, would they ask why I didn't apply straight away?

3. Question about 'Any dependents applying not with you' - we have children together that are British - do I answer Yes or No?

4. does only 1 referee has to be professional? I did ask my solicitor and he said he'll be a referee but I think he just wants to give his business address not his home address, would that be an issue? does he have to give his home address to match his passport number?

5. for the documents it asks for proof of freedom from immigration and her BRP. Ain't that the same thing?
Her BRP is ILR so I guess that's her proof of freedom as well as her BRP.

6. The question about previous immigration applications - do I have to mention all the application made starting from her Leave to Enter (1) then the Extension (2) and then the Settlement (3) or are they just asking about the Settlement visa?

7. Can I still use the English B1 test for this application even though it's been more than 2 years?

8. My wife had to renew he passport, (the one she used to enter the country almost 6 years ago), does she need to submit the old passport as well as the new one?

8. Lastly and the most important one i think, how do i prove she was in the country 3 years before application?? does it has to be exactly 3 years to the day? would government letters from when she arrived in the UK be sufficient?

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks in advanced

1. Yes fine.

2. She can apply at anytime. There is no set time she has to apply.

3. Answer no.

4. Yes one referee must be a professional. Fine, business address is also fine. As long as he has known your wife for 3 years and is not your representative in the citizenship application, he can be a referee.

5. Same things. Some people don't have a BRP and have ilr as a stamp in their passport, hence the Te'o slight difference in the question.

6. Yea, all applications made.

7. Yes.

8. Yes, to prove her residence and absence.

9. Yes to the day. Passport is all that is needed

Add everything you can remember and include a covering letter explaining that you cannot remember all of them.

They have access to everything anyway.

Natulisation Referees Question

Post by Imgettingold » Tue Feb 01, 2022 8:32 pm

Hi
I'm just about completed the naturalisation form, I'm submitting it online.
One thing that has confused me on the documents list is:-

'Two referee declarations for xxxxxx'

I'm confused because i have included all information they requested on the online form,
is there a declaration form that i have to get my referees to sign or something?
if so where do I get the form? do the referees need to provide a passport size photo?

appreciate any help

Thanks in advance

Yes the forms have to be signed by each of the referees.

It is the applicants photo that must be stuck into the form.

You should have an option to download the forms and print them.

Once signed etc they are uploaded with all your supporting evidence

Thanks but where do i download the forms?
I see it on the paper form application but not on the online,
i've looked everywhere on the online app but there are no forms,
saying that i have not gone further than the documents subheading, will there be there after i have made the declaration?

Pics for referees

Post by Imgettingold » Thu Feb 03, 2022 6:24 pm

Hi

Just a quick question

On the form which is to be signed by referees

It asks for the applicants name and to include it on the back of the photos,
should I include the title as well?
for example Joe Bloggs or Mr Joe Bloggs?

Thanks

(I panic about this small things)

Upload Documents and Family Consent

Post by Imgettingold » Sat Feb 05, 2022 2:10 pm

Hi,

After submission for naturalisation, I see the subheading online to upload your documents are the same as the ILR, under which sub headings should I upload my documents?
There a fewer docs this time

Also for the family consent forms, is it just the applicant and spouse that need to complete Part and Part 2?
Do referees need to complete part3?

Thanks in advance

You can just load everything in "other".

Do referees need to complete part3? No

First Visa Fingerprints and Uploads

Post by Imgettingold » Tue Feb 08, 2022 11:42 am

Hi

1. I can't remember the date of when my fingerprints where taken for my first visa, I've been advised to include a cover note explaining this or will it be ok?
The question is, 'Date fingerprints were taken if known'

2. Can someone help with the order of how they uploaded there documents for Naturalisation?
has anybody just put them under 'Other' subheading and been successful or which subheading should i put them in?

3. On my application, The question; 'Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time'
I answered No, but in other details to be considered - I mention we have children who are British.
My children will not be applying because they are already British and wouldn't be applying anyways
Would that be an issue?

Any help please, Thanks in advance

As it's "if known" you can pass this over - but if you wish you could also explain in a separate note.
2. Can someone help with the order of how they uploaded there documents for Naturalisation?
has anybody just put them under 'Other' subheading and been successful or which subheading should i put them in?
It's ok to put everything in other - these categories are not specific to naturalisation.
3. On my application, The question; 'Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time'
I answered No, but in other details to be considered - I mention we have children who are British.
My children will not be applying because they are already British and wouldn't be applying anyways

Not an issue - don't think it needs any further explanation.
Any help please, Thanks in advance
