HAND POSTED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

I there i have applied a child online renewal passport and i have to send an old passport as a supporting documents but after identity confirmation the address they have given to me for posting a supporting documents just close to my home only 10 min drive. my question is can i hand over the supporting documents myself or it has to be by post.
i will wait for reply from experts thanks
